How to print
6.1.
Preparing the printer
Before you can get started printing, we’ll need to do a couple of things to make sure that your printer is ready
to print.
6.1.1.
Tape the bed
The MagiCube uses blue painting tape to print on.
This offers good adhesion to the print bed for PLA.
The tape will wear out over time and need to be
replaced. If the tape is scratched, feels smooth in
places, or your prints are having trouble staying on the
bed, it is time to replace your tape.
The MagiCube comes with one roll of replacement
tape, but you can buy more at a local hardware store.
Other colours of painters tape can also work, but blue
painters tape will last the longest.
6.1.2.
Remove any debris from enclosure
During a print it is possible that plastic debris could collect in the printer enclosure. Any debris should be
removed before printing again. Also make sure not to have any tools or objects in the enclosure while the
MagiCube is printing.
6.1.3.
Route the filament
The MagiCube comes with a mini spool of PLA filament. This spool is designed to snap onto the rear hatch.
For detailed instructions on how to load the filament, see section 3.2.3 on page 13.
Important: When routing the filament into the extruder, make sure it goes through the tube at the back of the
enclosure before entering the print head.
6.1.4.
Power the printer
Plug the MagiCube into an AC power outlet using the included power supply. Do not use any other power
supply with this printer.
