7.1.8.

Photocoupler/Pulser Disc Replacement

Note: Pulser discs are fragile. Care should be taken when removing the pulser components.

1. Remove the cover from the pulser assembly by inserting a small flat blade 

screwdriver into the narrow side of the cover where it connects to the 
mounting leg of the pulser bracket. See Figure 7-7. for an exploded view of 
the Pulser Assembly).

2. Disconnect the cable to the photocoupler.

3. Remove the snap pin (item 2 in Figure 7-7.) holding the photocoupler to the 

housing. Pull the pulser parts up and out of the housing.

4. Slip the new pulser parts into the housing. Use a new snap pin to install a 

photocoupler.

5. Reconnect the cable to the photocoupler.

6. Rotate the disk through two or three revolutions to ensure that it does not 

contact the photocoupler.

7. Replace the cover by placing the narrow end of the cover onto the pulser 

bracket at the photocoupler cable/grommet location. Pull forward to engage 
the grommet and lower the cover down, avoiding contact with the disc, and 
snap the cover in place.
