Installing the Speaker Array
b. Secure the speakers to each other using the hexagon head bolts installed in
step 5, position the hexagon nuts, flat washers, and split-lock washers onto the
hexagon bolt.
c. Ensure the gap between the speaker edges, as shown in Figure 3.7, are the
equal on each side of the pole (the gap will vary depending on the size of the
pole); tighten the hexagon nuts.
14. Label the speaker wires as follows:
a. Label both ends of the speaker cables (with permanent
marker) with a speaker number, for identification,
when wiring the speakers to the speaker terminals in
the electronics cabinet, as shown in Section 5.1.1,
Wiring Speaker Array.
b. Label the end of the speaker cable located on the
bottom (downward side) of the Driver cover in large
letters/numbers allowing it to be read from the ground.
c. Figure 3.9 is an example of assigning speaker numbers
for an 8-speaker configuration.
15. Run cables according to Country, National or Local codes
having Authority and Jurisdiction.

16. Continue with the installation procedure as outlined in Chapter 4, Installing the
Cabinet.
In an effort to reduce any rattling from vibration or wind after the speaker
bolts are tightened, the installer might choose to wrap two pieces of a “Make
a Strap” around each pair of nuts and bolts or secure a tie wrap to the nut and
bolt.
To minimize interference such as Modulation Distortion and
interference of Audio Amps, use shielded twisted pair cable for all
Audio Input connections from the HPSA to the Drivers. Be sure to
ground one end of the cable.
