MANUAL VALVE CONTROL SCENARIOS
Two common scenarios are presented in the Scenario 1 and Scenario 2 subsections that follow.
NOTE
The MOV of a firing boiler cannot be manually overridden to the
“CLOSED” position.
5.4.1 Scenario 1
In this scenario, depicted in Figure 13, Boilers #1 and #2 are firing and the
corresponding MOVs #1 and #2 are automatically opened. A boiler MOV can always be
manually
opened by utilizing the “Valves” screen.
The scenario sequence is described as follows (See Figure 10).
1. From the Main screen press the “VALVES” touch screen button (Figure 10, Screen
1)
.
2. This action displays Screen 2 where either the “VALVES 1-2” or “VALVES 3-4”
screens may be selected by pressing their corresponding area of the touch screen.
The user is now brought to either the “VALVE 1-2” screen (Screen 3) or the
“VALVES 3-4” screen (Screen 4). If the “BACK” touch screen button was pressed
instead, the user would have navigated back to the Main screen.
3. On the “VALVES 1-2” screen (Screen 3) the user cannot effect any change because
those boilers are assumed to be firing in this particular scenario. The two valves
(Valve # 1 and Valve # 2) are already in the “OPEN” position and cannot be manually
closed while their respective boilers are firing. Pressing the “BACK” touch screen
button returns the user to Screen 2 where the user may either choose to select the
“VALVES 3-4” screen (Screen 4) or simply press the “BACK” touch screen button
and return to the Main screen.
4. If the user went to screen 4 instead, either Valve #3 or Valve #4 may be manually
opened since their respective boilers are not currently firing.
5. If the user navigated back to the Main screen the user may now choose to press the
“TIMER” touch screen button and set the boiler valve delay time in effect before the
valves can be closed.
