5) To set the heading mode to Relative Heading type ‘2’. This is the normal DMS mode (non-
GPS). In this mode, the GPS antennas do not need to be connected.
To make any of these modes the default the next time you power the unit on type in " (a quote
mark.)
Setting Velocity Mode
1) Activate Command Mode (See above).
2) Type '&'(this will bring up the main menu again).
3) To set new baud rate, type ‘5’.
This will bring up the menu:
4) To set to GPS Ground Velocity type ‘1’. This is the mode when using the GPS module.

To set to Analog Velocity type ‘2’. This is the normal DMS mode (non-GPS). Make sure that
the proper analog velocity signal is applied.

Setting Antenna Spacing
1) Activate Command Mode (See above).
2) Type '&'(this will bring up the main menu again).
3) To set new baud rate, type ‘6’.
This will bring up the menu:

Enter the Antenna Spacing with up to three decimal places.
Note: Input values outside the limit range are rejected (with ‘ENTRY EXCEEDS LIMITS - TRY AGAIN’
message) and the unit returns to the previous menu
SELECTION HEADING SOURCE (OR 'Q' TO QUIT):
1 = GPS GROUND TRACK VELOCITY (GPRMC GPS Message Required)
2 = ANALOG VELOCITY
CURRENT SPACING IS: 0.500
ENTER ANTENNA SPACING IN METERS (0.300 to 5.000), Q TO QUIT
