7. Loosen the fixing screw and remove the top safety cover from the L/H side
of the tower link assembly (see Figure 3:52).

8. With assistance, loosen the four fixing screws and remove the link from
the top module.
9. To re-assemble reverse the removal process.
3.11.3 Removing the Top Module and Tower Link Assembly
In the event that an existing 8 Bin Two Tower system is to be upgraded to a 12
Bin system, it will be necessary to remove the top module and tower link
assembly.
Procedure
1. Disconnect the DigiVAC from the mains power supply.
2. Disconnect the tower link assembly communications cable from the con-
nector socket in the Tower A top module (see Figure 3:50).
3. Carefully undock the tower link assembly from its locating points on the
Tower A top module and push Tower B away.
Caution
Remember that the tower link assembly will need supporting until it is clear of
Tower A. Always move the DigiVAC not the tower link assembly. Applying
lateral forces on the tower link assembly to move the collator can result in
damage.
4. Loosen the fixing screws and remove the L/H and R/H side covers from
the top module and top four feeders module.
5. Open the rear door and remove the rear conveyor assembly (see Section

top module.
7. Loosen the fixing screws and remove the L/H and R/H joint plates from
between the top module and the top four feeders module.
8. Loosen the fixing screws and remove the top module tensioner plate (see

10. Disconnect the power and data cables from the 900-194 PCB.
11. Remove the remaining six fixing screws holding the top module onto the
top four feeders module.
12. With adequate assistance, lift off the top module and tower link assembly
as a complete unit and place it down on a suitable surface.
13. To re-assemble reverse the removal process.
