7.2.2 Alignment of the electrodes in relation to the flow
The measurement of the flow is directly linked to the component of the distance between electrodes perpendicular
to the flow axis, d’.
If the electrodes are positioned perpendicularly to the flow direction, d=d’, where d is the distance between the
electrodes.
If the electrodes are rotated by an angle , d’≠ d and an error in the measurement will, therefore, be introduced.
It is essential to carefully position the electrodes in relation to the direction of the pipe.
