To deploy the motor make sure the power to the trolling motor is
turned off. Release the security strap and pull the release rope on the
motor mount. Once the mount releases the motor will pivot upward. As
the lower section of the motor pivots over the edge of the boat it will
get heavier. It is important that you control the motor as you lower it
into the water. Do not allow it to drop. This could cause damage to the
motor and to the boat. When the motor has been completely deployed,
you will hear the motor mount lock in place. Make sure that the motor
is secured by the mount before using.
Turn off the power to the trolling motor and pull the motor mount
rope handle. The motor will pivot up out of the water and then into
a horizontal position. Gently lay the motor into the mount and make
sure the mounting bracket locks into place. You will hear a click
when the motor is locked into place. Lastly secure the motor with
the security strap.
It is important that you exercise caution when
deploying or stowing your Hawser motor. Always use
the supplied trolling motor release rope with
handle to deploy or stow your motor.
Keep your hands and feet away
from the scissor bracket mount to
avoid injury. Use your legs to raise and lower the
trolling motor. Do not use your back.
