HAWSER
STEERING THE MOTOR
Note that there is a directional arrow on the top of the head unit of the motor.
When the foot pedal is level, the arrow should point straight. If the arrow is not
pointing straight loosen the mounting bracket and turn the upper shaft of the
motor until the arrow is pointed straight ahead, then tighten the mounting
bracket.
The position of the foot control determines the direction of the motor. When the
foot control is level the motor will point straight ahead. As the foot control is
depressed with the toe of the foot the motor will turn to the right
( clockwise). When the foot control is completely depressed forward
the motor will swivel completely around and cause the boat to move in reverse.
When the foot control is depressed with the heel of the foot the motor will turn
left ( counter clockwise ). When the foot control is completely depressed backward
the motor will swivel completely around and cause the boat to move in reverse.
