Networking:
This guide will walk you through the steps needed to connect your DVR to a basic local area network, and
to set up your DVR so it may be accessed over the internet. This will allow you to monitor your cameras
from anywhere you have internet access.
If you have a network administrator, consult them before proceeding.
1) Open the Advanced Config menu:
2) From the Advanced Config menu, Navigate to the Network tab
3) From here set Network Type to DHCP, and set PORT to '88'. Exit the Menu to save settings. This will
ensure the DVR acquires a compatible, unused IP address
4) Return to the Network tab by following steps 1 and 2 again. From here record the
Internal IP address
,
GATEWAY and NETMASK numbers for later usage.
5) Set Network type back to STATIC and manually assign the details that were recorded in step 4. This
will ensure that a new IP address is not assigned to the DVR if it loses power. Take care not to
manually assign this IP address to any other Device on the network
*
*Not all Routers will take static IP addresses into consideration when auto assigning devices, this
may still cause conflicting address problems.
