Frame Mount Installation Continued
For 2002 or newer models, attach the
mount using the center slots. Before you
can attach the mount, you will have to
drill through the skidplate as shown in
Figure 2. Using a 5/16” drill bit, drill
through the existing holes on the bike
located on the inside of the tubing and
near the front of the bike. Attach the bike
to the chassis using two 5/16-18 x 1-3/4”
Bolts and 5/16” Nylock nuts.
WARNING
USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN DRILLING THROUGH THE SKID PLATE. KEEP ALL
BODYPARTS AWAY FROM THE ROTATING BIT. CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE BIT WILL
NOT DRILL THROUGH ANY OTHER PART OF THE BIKE WHEN YOU DRILL THROUGH
THE SKID PLATE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS WARNING CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS BIKE
DAMAGE OR OPERATOR INJURY.
Install both U-Bolts over the top of the
frame tubes and into the frame bracket
(Fig. 3). Use a 1/2” socket and ratchet to
secure the U-Bolts with 5/16” Nylock
nuts.
Do not over tighten the U-Bolts as
this can bend the frame bracket .
Tighten all fasteners to the following
specifications.
Torque 5/16” Bolts: 11 ft-lb (15 N-m)
