TOP PHASER CONTROLS
10 STAGE PHASER
Dry Mix – Controls the level of unaffected
signal at the output of the pedal. Set to
zero to hear only the affected signal; set
to full to bring in the dry signal. This is a
global control, working with both phasers.
Rate – Controls the speed of the phase
effect
Depth – Controls the intensity of the
phase effect
Regen – Regeneration; controls how
much of the phased effect is fed back
into the phase filters. At minimum, you’ll
hear a tamer phaser. To hear more
phased peaks in the frequency spectrum,
feed more of the phased signal back into
itself by turning the control clockwise.
Wet Mix – Controls the level of effected
signal at the output of the pedal. Set to
zero to hear only the unaffected signal;
set to full to bring in the wet signal.
This is a global control, working with
both phasers.
BOTTOM PHASER CONTROLS
(SELECT BY TOGGLE)
The affected signal from the top phaser
feeds into the selected phaser below;
giving you two phasers in series.
10-STAGE PHASER WITH REVENERATION
Rate – Controls the speed of the
10-stage phase effect
Depth – Controls the intensity of the
phase effect
Tweak – Here, Tweak acts Regeneration,
controlling how much of the phased
effect is fed back into the phase filters.
At minimum, you’ll hear a tamer phaser.
To hear more phased peaks in the
frequency spectrum, feed more of the
phased signal back into itself by turning
the control clockwise.
6-STAGE PHASER WITH PITCH
Rate – Controls the speed of the 6-stage
phase effect
Depth – Controls the intensity of the
phase effect
Tweak – Here, Tweak acts a pitch warp.
Pitch is a detune control to sway the
pitch of the wet signal back a forth below
where it currently sits. The more of this
effect applied, the deeper the pitch wave
dips.
4 STAGE PHASER WITH FILTER
Rate – Controls the speed of the 4-stage
phase effect
Depth – Controls the intensity of the
phase effect
Tweak – Here, Tweak acts as a filter.
This controls the frequency floor of the
filter. At 0%, you’ll hear no filter. Move
clockwise to apply filter on the phase
effect and push close to 100% to achieve
mass-chaos.
The Vanguard has stereo input functionality as
well as stereo output. To use this capability
you’ll need an existing stereo signal and a ¼”
TRS splitter cable. To activate the stereo input
mode, remove the backplate and locate the
red DIP switches on the left hand side of the
circuitry. The switches will be just under the
input and right output jacks. The Vanguard will
come ready with the S1 switch down and the
S2 switch up – activating the mono input
mode. To switch the pedal to stereo input,
toggle S1 to the up position and S2 to the
down position. Once this is complete, replace
the backplate. Using the ¼” TRS splitter
cable, plug your two incoming stereo signals
into the female ends of the splitter cable and
the TRS male end of the splitter cable into the
input of the Vanguard.
