Installing the Main Remote Control.

Remote Control Installation

One (1) remote control is provided with
the water heater.  Additional remote
controls may be purchased separately.
Up to three (3) remote controls can be
used with this water heater.

The following are considerations for
determining the location of the remote
control(s):

l

l

DO NOT

install any remote control

outdoors or in areas where it can come
in contact with water.

l

l

Place remote control out of children’s reach.

l

l

The remote control can be installed in
convenient locations such as the kitchen,
laundry room, utility room, or directly beside
the indoor water heater.

l

l

Avoid areas where the remote control
may be exposed to heat, e.g. stove
ranges or heaters.

l

l

Avoid areas where the remote control

may be subjected to oil and/or steam
from cooking.

l

l

Avoid areas where chemical agents
(such as thinner, benzine and alkaline)
are used.

l

l

Avoid areas of direct sunlight.

l

l

The MAXIMUM distance between the
water heater and the remote control
installation location is limited to 195
feet (59 m) of wire.

NOTICE:  Only one of each type of
remote control can connect to the light
duty water heater.  Therefore, a
maximum of three controls can connect
to the water heater.  (One remote
control is included with the water
heater.)

No other manufacturer’s controls are
suitable for use with this water heater.

DO NOT attempt to disassemble the
remote control.

WARNING: Field wiring connections and electrical grounding must comply with local

codes, or in the absence of local codes, with the latest edition of the National Electrical Code,
ANSI/NFPA 70, or in Canada, Canadian Electrical Code, CSA C22.1 Part 1.
