Scanner Sends IO-Link Parameters to the Module (Only for Modules with IO-Link
Master Ports)
With “Exclusive Owner without Config” and “Listen Only” connections, the scanner does
not transfer any port parameters. For these connection types, the port parameters are set
with a different tool. You can find an overview of the tools you can use to set the port pa-
rameters under

With “Exclusive Owner” and “Input Only” connections, the scanner transfers the port pa-
rameters to the module that you set up previously with the scanner’s configuration soft-
ware. The scanner sends these parameters to the module every time a connection is es-
tablished.

Connection 2 Exclusive Owner

• The scanner can read the module’s input data and write the
output data.
Connection 3 Input Only • The port parameters are set with the configuration software of
the scanner and transferred to the module through this con-
nection.
• The scanner can read the product’s input data.
Connection 4 Listen Only • No port parameters are transferred to the module through this
connection.
• The scanner can read the module’s input data.
• An additional scanner that communicates with module via an
“Exclusive Owner” connection or “Input Only” connection is
necessary.
10.2.1.3 Setting Parameters
Set the module and port parameters in the configuration software of the EtherNet/IP
scanner to define the behavior of the module and the required port functions for use of
the connected sensors and actuators.
