Channel Pair Errors
In case of a channel pair error, the respective bits of the channel pair in the
channel status byte are set to “bad”. Depending on the set analog value data
format
(see Section “Functions” > “Analog Value Data Format”), the specific
substitute value or parameterized substitute value for the faulty passivated input
channel pair in the process image is transferred to the safe PLC.
The group error LED illuminates continuously in red. A diagnostic message
correspon
ding to the error is reported (see Section “Error Diagnostics”).
Note the process image for module-wide passivation!
When passivation is module-wide, all channel status bits in the channel status
byte are set to “bad” (0). The substitute values are also transmitted to the safe
PLC for the error-free input channels.
9.3.3
Module Errors
In case of a module error, all bits in the channel status byte are set to “bad”.
For all module errors requiring confirmation, the respective parameterized
substitute value in the process image is transmitted to the safe PLC for all
channels or channel pairs. The safe communication is shut down for all other
module failures.
All channel status LEDs of the module are switched off permanently. The group
error LED illuminates continuously in red. A diagnostic message corresponding to
the error is reported (see Section “Error Diagnostics”).
The sensor supply outputs are switched off and the input current paths of the
individual analog inputs are split.
9.3.4
Configuration/Communication Errors
In case of a configuration or communication error, safe communication between
the F I/O module and the safe PLC is not possible. All channel status bits are set
to the value “bad” in the channel status byte.
All process values are set to substitute values for all input channels or input
channel pairs by the safe PLC.
The PROFIsafe status LED, local bus communication LED and parameterization
status LED assume states corresponding to the error. The individual statuses of
the named LEDs are described in
Section “Error Diagnostics”. The group error
LED illuminates continuously in red. A diagnostic message corresponding to the
error is reported, see Section “Error Diagnostics”.
