Force a Digital Output
Click on 00001 <0>, a Write Coil screen will appear. you can now
force the first digital output bit on the WAGO node.
Repeat this for bit 00002 <0>
c.
Read a Digital Input
Connect 24VDC to digital input 1 on the WAGO node. Then note
that 00001 <0> will change to 00001 <1>.
Repeat this for bit 00002 <0>
THIS COMPLETES THE BASIC SETUP FOR MODBUS
4.4 Advanced WAGO Buscoupler configuration utilizing
MODBUS commands while on-line.

Select Extended from the Menu bar.
Select user defined.

This screen allows standard Modbus commands to be sent to the
buscoupler.
The following example sets the WAGO bus coupler for Watchdog
operation with a 17 second communication scan and turns
all outputs to OFF.
From the User Defined Command String screen; place a 06 in the
Function field. Place the hex value of 10,00,00,AA in the Send
Data field(17 second Delay is the AA). Click on Send you can now
see a Check Sum value returned in the Response Buffer of
01,06,10,00,00,AA,0D,75

From the User Defined Command String screen; place a 06 in the
Function field. Place the hex value of 10,01,00,FF (watchdog
ON) in the Send Data field. Click on Send you can now see a
Check Sum value returned in the Response Buffer of
01,06,10,01,00,FF,9C,8A
Force a digital output ON and stop communication to the
Buscoupler. The outputs will go to an OFF state after
communications has been broken for 17 Seconds.
NOTE: This procedure is an example of programming the Buscoupler.
The Modbus protocol has many commands that can be utilized with your
system.
