Device Description
The digital input module 750-429/040-001 (2DI 60V DC 3ms XTR) receives
control signals from digital field (e.g. of sensors, transmitters, switches or
proximity switches).
The I/O module has 2 input channels, providing a direct connection to 2-wire
signal contacts.
Each channel can function as a low-side switch or a high-side switch input.
Depending on the external wiring the signal contacts are connected to the
following CAGE CLAMP
®
connectors:
DI 1
−
or DI 2
−
and 0 V or
DI 1+ or DI 2+ and 60 V.
Each channel can either be positive or negative switching.
The assignment of the connections is described in the “Connectors” section.
Connection examples are shown in section “Connect Devices” > … >
“Connection Example(s)”.
The input channel is positive switching, if a 2-conductor sensor is connected to
the upper signal input DI 1+ or DI 2+ and to the 60 V connector, and the 0 V
connector and the corresponding lower signal input DI
1− or DI
2
−
are jumpered.
This means, if the 60 V potential for field power is switched to an input
connection, the signal status for the corresponding input channel is set to “high.”
The input channel is negative switching, if a 2-conductor sensor is connected to
the lower signal input DI 1
−
or DI 2
−
and to the 0 V connector, and the 60 V
connector and the corresponding upper signal input DI 1+ or DI 2+ are jumpered.
This means, if the 0 V potential for field power is switched to an input connection,
the signal status for the corresponding input channel is set to “high.”
Each input channel has a RC noise rejection filter with a time constant of 3.0 ms.
A green LED indicates the switched status of each channel.
The meaning of the LEDs is described in the “Display Elements” section.
Only connect to I/O modules with the same field power supply!
The I/O module 750-429/040-001 requires a field supply not equal to 24 VDC.
Therefore, this I/O module 750-429/040-001 shall only be connected to modules
having the same field power supply.
If using an adjacent I/O module designed for another field power supply, place an
appropriate supply module between this adjacent module and the I/O module
750-429/040-001.
Failure to observe these instructions may result in damage to properties or
injuries to people.
