SteamVR
SteamVR is the software used to support different VR headsets. It and VR
programs can be obtained from the Steam Sore under the ‘VR’ tag.
Using Pimax Vision 8K X without peripherals
The headset can also be used for PC VR without Base Stations or controllers.
Under the ‘Settings’ tab of the PiTool, switch the tracking mode from
‘Lighthouse’ to ‘9-Axis’. This will allow the headset to work without Base
Stations, but will not support leaning motions in VR.
Headset display
Certain display settings, like the Pimax refresh rate, as well as many other
graphical settings, are adjusted in the PiTool, under the Settings tab.
Restarting SteamVR is required for changes to take effect.
Some display settings can also be adjusted in SteamVR, without
interruption.
Installing alternative speakers
If preferred, the default KDMAS headphones can be replaced with SMAS
speakers included in the box. Make sure the headset is not connected or
powered when doing this. Pull off the padding to access the area.
Troubleshooting
The following tips can help resolve issues:

Updating all drivers and Steam.

Restarting the computer.
●
Taking all cables out of the computer and reconnecting them.
●
Restarting SteamVR.
●
Ensuring that the DisplayPort is really in the graphics card, not the
motherboard.
●
Reinstalling PiTool with your antivirus disabled.
●
Ensuring that the monitor is connected to the PC.
●
Running diagnostics with the PiTool under the ‘help’ tab.
