Installation and Operating Manual
CONTROL Unit
for Mobil
POWER
Inverter SMI (-NVS) Sinus
No. 2065
On/Off Control Unit, 12 V and 24 V
The ON/OFF Control Unit allows automatic switching on and off of the
Mobil
POWER
Inverter of series SMI Sinus
by means
of the D+ connection of the alternator.
The inverter can also be switched on or off by supplying 12 V or 24 V battery voltage to the terminal On/Off via main switch,
timer or simple on-off switch.
The control panel existing at the inverter is not required, since the unit is now switched on or off by the ON/OFF control unit.
If the control panel shall be still used as display panel, it can be removed from the unit to be used as remote control. The
delivery scope of the inverter includes a control cable of 5 m length for connection.
Please read these mounting instructions prior to connection and start-up.
Mounting:
Disconnect the power supply: Unscrew the connection cable of the inverter from the positive pole of the battery.
Remove the control panel of the inverter, and separate the control cable from the inverter.
Insert the delivered control cable of 30 cm length, and connect it to the female connector
Inverter
at the ON/OFF
control unit.
Install the ON/OFF control unit next to the inverter.
Wire the terminal ON/OFF to the ON/OFF control unit with the desired switching signal or control signal.
Make the desired adjustments by means of the microswitch at the inverter (see page 2).
Re-establish the power supply: Screw the connection cable of the inverter firmly down to the positive pole of the
battery.
OPTION: Remote Control
Connect the control panel to the female connector
Remote
at the ON/OFF control unit using the control cable of 5 m
length.
The ON/OFF control unit will only be activated and released, if the inverter is separated from mains, that is,
the unit has been separated from the battery.
Function:
If voltage is supplied to the control input of the ON/OFF control unit, the inverter will be starting after 3 seconds waiting
time. Identical to the switching-on process, also the switching-off process is effected with a time-delay of approx. 3 seconds.
In connection with the ON/OFF control unit the inverter will always start in continuous operation. The switch function at the
control panel is restricted, which means that manual switching on and off of the inverter is not possible any longer. However,
in case of failure, this switch can be used to reset the unit, and the inverter can be switched on by means of the ON/OFF
control unit.
If the control voltage is removed from control input D+ of the ON/OFF control unit, the inverter will be switched-off in any
case.
