9 Troubleshooting
This chapter describes possible operation failures that may occur during the
execution of the commands previously described. Since the same information is
displayed to both the LCD and the serial interface the LCD format is shown in
the following table.

Error Explanation
Source/Target Drive
- no drive found
No power to the drive.
No ATA cable to a drive.
Unable to identify a drive.
Hint: Make sure that each of the drives is
securely connected to the SuperDuper unit.
Source/Target Drive
-read error
A read error was detected while reading
data from a drive.
Hint: Replace the drive.
Source/Target Drive
-write error
A write error was detected while copying
data to a drive.
Hint: Replace the drive.
Source/Target Drive
-not enough capacity
The source drive is larger than the smallest
target drive.
Hint: Install a larger target drive.
Operation Failed
-Source read error
Unable to recover from a read error on the
Source drive.
Hint: First check cables, then replace drive.
Operation Failed
-Target read error
Unable to recover from a read error on one
of the Target drives, but could not
determine which Target drive was at fault.
Hint: Manually remove one drive at a time until
the problem is resolved.
Operation Failed
-Target write error
Unable to recover from a write error on one
of the Target drives, but could not
determine which Target drive was at fault.
Hint: Manually remove one drive at a time until
the problem is resolved.
