PLUNGE CUTTING

Mark the line ready for the cut.

Choose a point inside the area to be cut and place
the tip of the blade over that point.

Rest the front edge of the work-piece so that the
blade does not make contact with the work-piece
surface.

Hold the tool securely with one hand on the

Handle

and the other on the

Barrel Grip (3)

, making sure

that you have full control at all times.

Squeeze the

On/Off Trigger(5)

 fully for maximum

speed, and allow the blade to come to full speed.

METAL CUTTING

NOTE

This 800W Reciprocating Saw is suitable for

cutting such materials as sheet steel, pipe, steel rods,
aluminium, brass and copper.

IMPORTANT

Ensure you have the correct blade fitted

to cut the material.

CAUTION

Take care not to bend or twist the blade

and do not force cut.

Always use a suitable cutting fluid when sawing soft
metals and steel; this will ensure that the blade keeps
cool and help to prolong the life of the blade to
achieve a more efficient cut.

Make sure that the work-piece is firmly clamped into
place to minimise vibration.

When cutting angle iron or conduit pipe, clamp the
work-piece in a vice where possible, and cut as close
to the vice as possible.

To cut thin sheet metal, clamp the sheet in between
hardwood or plywood to prevent vibration and
tearing of the material.

MAKING CUTS

8

Squeeze the

On/Off Trigger (5)

 fully for maximum

speed, and allow the blade to come to full speed.

Slowly lower the blade until it makes contact with the
work-piece and continue to cut slowly, until the blade
has fully penetrated the thickness of the work-piece.

WARNING!

 Plunge cutting is an advanced

technique with a higher risk. Only more
competent and experienced users should
use this method of cutting.

WARNING!

 Only attempt this method on

softer materials such as wood, plasterboard
or similar.

WARNING!

 Inspect both sides of the

material to be plunge cut for foreign
objects on the underneath, or objects
that could be damaged, and be aware
of hidden pipe work or power cables. If
plunge cutting into drywalls, ensure that
all electrical supply has been isolated
and switched off and that water and gas
supplies have been shut off.
