AUXILIARY HANDLE &
SHOULDER STRAP
To attach the Auxiliary Handle
(11)
push the Auxiliary
Handle Mount
(5A)
onto the Pole Trimmer.
Push the Auxiliary Handle
(11)
onto the Mount and
adjust to the desired angle.
Insert the Bolt trough the Auxiliary Handle and secure
by tightening the Nut onto the opposite end.
Pole trimmers are often referred to as being difficult
to balance or being heavy as the motor in the cutting
head is far away from the position of the gripping
surfaces during use.
To ensure that good balance is felt in the product, it
is important to:
Always wear safety goggles, non-slip footwear
and gloves. Always attach the auxiliary handle and
shoulder strap. Maintain proper footing and balance.
Be careful not to overreach. Do not over extend your
arms for prolonged periods of time as this can cause
fatigue.
When in use, always use either the auxiliary handle or
foam grips in conjunction with your other hand on the
rear handle and trigger.
SHOULDER STRAP
The shoulder strap should be adjusted so that the
pole trimmer is comfortable against your body, and
so that the attachment point can be used as a pivot
point when in use.
BALANCE & WORKING POSITION
9
AUXILIARY HANDLE
The auxiliary handle can be completely removed and
placed where it is required to achieve the easiest
pivot point against the shoulder strap without being
difficult to hold up. Your hand on the main handle can
be used to counterbalance.
FOAM GRIP AND POLE
This can be used as an alternative to the auxiliary
handle if it is more comfortable during use.
POLE LENGTH ADJUSTMENT
Always adjust the length of the pole to suit the size of
hedge to be cut.
Once the accessories have been adjusted to feel com-
fortable the pole trimmer will balance and counterbal-
ance with less fatigue being felt.
For added stability and manoeuvrability, we
recommend you always attach the Shoulder Strap
(10)
to the Shoulder Strap Mount
(5)
located on the
top of the Main Unit.
Adjust the length of the shoulder strap to obtain
a comfortable working position. A few practice
swings without starting the motor should be made to
determine correct balance.
Put the shoulder strap over your right shoulder. Carry
the tool motor unit at the right side of your body.
IMPORTANT:
Never attach the strap diagonally
across your shoulder and your breast, but rather
place it on one of your shoulders. In this way you can
remove the tool quickly from your body in case of
danger.
