• Protect the device from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong
jolts, high humidity, moisture, flammable gases, steam and solvents.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of
operation and protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no
longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a
low height can damage the product.
• On commercial premises, the accident prevention regulations of the As-
sociation of Industrial Professional Associations with respect to electri-
cal systems and operating equipment must be observed.
• In schools, training centres, Hobby and DIY workshops, the handling of
electrical appliances must be responsibly supervised by trained person-
nel.

b) Product safety
• The product must not be subjected to heavy mechanical stress or in-
tense vibration.
•
The product must not be exposed to electromagnetic fields, extreme
temperatures, direct sunlight, dampness, dust or flammable material.
• Transmitters (mobile phones, transmitters for model construction, etc.)
must be kept away from the charger since the occurring transmitter ra-
diation might lead to malfunctions or destruction of the charger and thus
also the rechargeable batteries.
• The manufacturer’s instructions for the respective rechargeable batter-
ies must be observed.
• Improper handling (too high charging currents, incorrect polarity or unat-
tended operation) can result in overcharging or destruction of the re-
chargeable batteries. In the worst case, the batteries can explode, thus
causing serious damages.
• The product should not be used immediately after it has been brought
from an area of cold temperature to an area of warm temperature. Con
-
densed water might destroy the product. Wait until the product adapts to
the new ambient temperature before use.
•
Sufficient ventilation is essential when operating the charging unit. Nev
-
er place the unit on a table cloth or on a carpet! Place the unit on a hard,
flame resistant base.
• The structure of the power adapter complies with safety class II (double
or reinforced insulation). Make sure the insulation of the product is nei-
ther damaged nor destroyed.
c) Li-Ion battery
• Batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave batteries
lying around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow them.
• Never damage the rechargeable battery. Damaging the casing of the
rechargeable battery might cause an explosion or a fire!
• Never short-circuit the contacts of the rechargeable battery. Do not
throw the battery or the product into fire. There is a danger of fire and
explosion!

Charge the rechargeable battery regularly, even if you do are not using
the product. Due to the rechargeable battery technology being used,
you do not need to discharge the rechargeable battery first.
• Never charge the rechargeable battery of the product unattended.

Intended use
The intended use of the device comprises the charging of 1 to 2 CR-123 Li-Ion
rechargeable batteries.
The supplied power adaptor or the supplied cigarette lighter adapter (for 12 V/DC
voltage source in vehicle) may be used for voltage supply.
Due to the intelligent charger electronic with reliable over-voltages switch-off and
short circuit protection it is not necessary to discharge the accumulator before insert-
ing it into the P-76.
No matter what charging status the accumulator has - P-76 charges it reliable with-
out overcharging. If used correctly the supplied Li-Ion accumulator can undergo hun-
dreds of charging cycles with almost constant capacity.
Operation is permitted only in dry and closed rooms; contact with moisture and tem-
peratures above 55°C have to be avoided at all times. Charging of non-chargeable
cells (batteries) is prohibited.
Do not use the charger to charge alkaline rechargeable batteries.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product.
If you use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product
may be damaged. In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuit-
ing, fire, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this
product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.
