Connection (pay attention to the sequence!)
1. Connect the „Energy Check 3000“ to a regulation-compliant 230 V protected earth socket.
2. Connect the turned-off electrical equipment to the measuring instrument.
3. Then switch the equipment on.
Measuring
Measuring with „Energy Check 3000“ can be done using one of following two methods of oper-
ation:
„Normal“ method (after plugging in)
In this use the „
STA/STP
“ and „
ON TIME
“ buttons have no function. The main indicator on the
display shows the current power of the connected equipment. The lower indicator presents the
electricity costs for the equipment in chosen rate per hour. In this, it is however assumed that
the equipment will be operated at constant power and without interruption.
Indication example:
1842 W x 1 h x 0.24 Euro/kWh = 0.442 Euro, i.e. the cost
per hour is 0.442 Euros.
With the „
MODE
“ button you can switch between rate I and rate II. Hold down the button until
the rate chosen is shown. As soon as you release the button, the appropriate rate-specific elec-
tricity costs are calculated and displayed.
„Record“ method (REC)
To switch from the normal method to the „record“ method press the „
MODE
“ button. The fol-
lowing indicator appears on the display:
• To start recording, press the „
STA/STP
“ button.
During the recording phase a stopwatch is running (the colon blinks). On the left above the
time indicator a symbol „REC“ (Recording) can be seen.
• Pressing the „
STA/STP
“ button for the second time stops the recording process and with it
the measurement time.
Presenting the measured values
During or after the end of the measuring time in the „recording“ method you can check differ-
ent measured values by pressing the „
MODE
“ button.
1. Electronic energy consumption of the connected device (kWh) in the measurement
time (REC-Time)
Indication example:
2. Electricity costs in the measurement period („REC TIME“) for the equipment using the
chosen rate.
Indication example:
☞
During both the above measurements also the switch-on time („ON TIME“) with-
in the measurement period of the connected equipment will be stored. You can
retrieve this time by pressing the „ON TIME“ button.
Indication example:
3. Current power of the connected equipment.
Indication example:
4. Lowest power that was detected during the measurement period.
Indication example:
5. Highest power that was detected during the measurement period.
Indication example:
Erase data
You can can always return to the default „Normal“ method of operation from any part of the
program.
Simultaneously press down the „
STA/STP
“ and „
MODE
“ buttons for longer than 2 seconds.
The collected data will be erased. The preset rates are, however, preserved.
The symbols „REC“, „ON“ or „TIME“ are no longer visible.
Disposal
When the device has become unusable, dispose of it in accordance with the cur-
rent statutory regulations.
Maintenance
„Energy Check 3000“ requires no servicing on your part apart from occasional cleaning. It may
not be opened/altered, or the guarantee/warranty will be void.
It is sufficient to use a clean, dry, anti-static and lint-free cloth for external cleaning.
Do not use carbon-containing cleaning agents or petrol, alcohol or similar sub-
stances for cleaning purposes. These might attack the surface of the product (e.g.
discolouration). The fumes are furthermore a health hazard and are explosive.
Moreover, you should not use sharp-edged tools, screwdrivers or metal brushes
or similar for cleaning.
