e) Resistance test
Check the measuring function on a regular basis using the in-
EMZ-1000
cluded calibration loop (11). This ensures proper functioning of
your tester.
The calibration loop has two resistance values (1 Ω and 10 Ω).
Turn on the device and wait for the self-test to complete. When
the test is complete, open the current clamp and insert the cali-
bration loop. You can measure 1 Ω or 10 Ω depending on the
side. Close the current clamp.
The corresponding reading should appear on the display. If the
reading deviates from specifications, turn on the tester again
and repeat the procedure. If necessary, check whether the con-
tact surfaces of the current clamp are intact.
f) Setting measurement mode
The tester enables simultaneous measurement of loop resistance and loop current or loop re-
sistance measurement alone.
Use the “MODE” button to toggle between the two measurement modes.
Loop resistance and loop current Loop resistance
When measuring the loop resistance and loop current at the same time, the tester
produces a pulsating buzzing noise. A continuous buzzing noise can be heard when
measuring the loop resistance alone.
