Non-observance of the following points may lead to module failure! VAS 5051 or VAS 5052 must always be
connected to an approved power supply at the approved voltages. Under no circumstances should the power
supply be interrupted or the diagnostic connector unplugged during the update programming procedure. Any
appliances with high electromagnetic radiation must be turned off. (i.e. mobile phones)
Volkswagen Brand CD from V.12.83.00 as well as the Basic CD version 12.00 or higher must be installed.
Battery MUST have a minimum no-load charge of 12.5 volts. (Failure to maintain voltage during update process
may result in control module failure.
Use INC-940 battery charger to maintain voltage during the procedure.
Workshops which have a networked VAS diagnostic tester can run an online update of control unit using SVM
(software version management).
Tip:
SVM process must be completed in it’s entirety so the database receives an update confirmation response. A
warranty may not be reimbursed if there is no confirmation response to support claim. For further update
