6. Operating instructions
6.5 Toasting
1. Check that the crumb tray (4) is inserted properly (Fig. 1).
2. Connect the power plug (10) to a suitable outlet.
3. Place one slice of bread in the bread slot (3) (Fig. 2).
4. Set the desired browning level using the knob (9). You can choose between 6
browning levels. The lowest level gives the lightest colour, the highest level
gives the darkest colour. Generally when the browning level is set between 3
and 4 the toast is golden brown. Browning is dependent on the type of bread
used. We therefore recommend to try a few times.
5. Press the carriage control lever (11) downwards to start the toasting process
(Fig. 3). The Cancel button (6) turns on.
6. When the toast is ready, the carriage control lever (11) will return to the
starting position and the appliance turns off automatically. The Cancel
button (6) turns off.
7. You can manually stop the toasting process at any time. Press the Cancel
button (6). The carriage control lever (11) jumps up and toast can be
removed.
Warning - Burning hazard!
After toasting gently remove the hot slices of toast out of the appliance in order to avoid
burns.
Note
If only one slot is used (one slice of bread), browning will be more intensive than when using
both slots to toast 2 slices of bread. It is advisable to choose a lower browning level when
toasting bread in a single slot.
Note
To achieve uniformly brown toast several times over, wait 30 seconds between each toasting.
