Table 2 below is used for setting up the board using pin control. The SFP interface is disabled.

Connect test equipment as

Confirm PPG output 500mV per side
(peak to peak)

Turn on Power Supply
Verify supply is not current limited. The current should be ~0.4A
without an SFP module.

Confirm SW1, SW2 & SW3
positions shown in Figure 2
This will set the board to 4G FC data rate in
repeater
mode with
TXOUT and RXOUT enabled.

Confirm SW6 positions shown
in Figure 3
This will configure the part in mode 9, Normal, RxCLK “on”

Verify that a jumper is installed
on JP15 in the TXDIS position
At this moment you should see a data-eye on the Oscilloscope.
