•
Secure the cabling at close intervals along its entire
length.
•
Protect the cabling with additional sheathing or padding
anywhere it passes through a hole or lays against an
obstruction.
•
Provide flex relief at any location where the cable must
change direction sharply, to maintain a smooth bend and
prevent kinking.
•
Provide strain relief at each connector to absorb any
pulling forces on the cable and prevent damage to the
connector.
CAUTION
Power supply cords and cables must be
protected. Do not run cords where they can
be walked upon. Protect cables against
pinching and chafing. Pay special attention
to locations where the cables enter or exit
an enclosure or make a sharp bend.
CAUTION
Ensure that the electrical supply is protected
by overcurrent protection devices as
required by the applicable electrical codes.
WARNING
Be sure the power being supplied matches
the power required by the equipment.
6.5.2
Tripod Deployment
For portable applications, the Strata RX will typically be moved
from place to place and set up each time. Most of the
installation’s mounting and cabling remains in place from one
deployment to the next.
Mounting
the RX will usually be mounted in a Vislink
Universal
Mounting Bracket
. The Bracket will be attached to a Quick
Release for easy mounting on a Vislink tripod. See Figure 6-2.
For applications using both an RXU and RCU, a Mounting Plate
is also used to provide additional stiffness.
The Universal Mounting Bracket and Mounting Plate are usually
left attached to the RX all the time. The Quick Release is used to
separate the RX from the tripod for easier carrying and transport.
For situations where you are mounting to another type of tripod
that doesn’t directly accept the Quick Release, consult with
Vislink or your tripod manufacturer. Vislink has Wedge Plates
that will convert some types of tripods to accept the Quick
Release.
Cabling
The cabling between RXU and RCU is also typically
left in place. The power, antenna and audio/video connections
are usually removed at the end of each deployment.
