By-alarm configurable 4-output expansion module with change-over
relay 3 A 24 V.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

• Power supply: 12 V ± 20%
• Absorption: 82 mA max
• Outputs: 4 with change-over relays, voltage-free, programmable in all the modes

contemplated by the control panel.

• Connections: with 4 wires to one of the serial ports for connection to the RS485 bus
• Operating temperature: -10..+40 °C (indoor use)
• Dimensions: 76x62 mm
• Degree of safety: 2 (EN 50131-3)
• Ambient class: II (EN 50131-3)

INSTALLING THE EXPANSION MODULES

The module is connected to the control panel to one of the serial ports, following
the instructions given in the control panel's installation manual and respecting the
warnings.
• For installation, use halogen-free shielded cables suitable for installation with

Category 1 power cables (U0 = 400 V) such as cable art. 01733 (2x0.50
mm

2

+2x0.22 mm

2

).

• For the power supply, use wires with a minimum cross-section of 0.50 mm

2

 observ-

ing the c and - polarity.

• Connect the signal cables A and B using conductors with a minimum section equal

to 0.22 mm

2

• The shielding must be connected to the negative on the control panel side and left

free on the expansion module side.

ADDRESSING THE EXPANSION MODULES

For them to be recognised by the control panel, the expansion modules need to be
addressed by setting the DIP-switches on the printed circuit board; the settings that
can be made are listed in the following table:

Caution: The maximum number of expansion modules that can be installed
depends on the type of control panel used.
If the addressing made with the DIP-switches is changed with the module
switched on, to make it operational you need to press the push-button PB1 or
power cycle the device.

Amber LED

The amber led on the expansion module lets you control functionality as follows:
•

On steady

: module properly powered but no serial communication.

•

Blinking at a frequency of 1 s

: module powered correctly and receiving serial com-

munications but these are sent with an incorrect address or no configuration of the
device in the control panel.

•

Blinking with one short pulse every second

: module powered properly and correct

serial communication.

FEATURES OF THE MODULE 01710

The circuit with which the device is made has 4 single changeover relay outputs that
can be programmed in all the modes contemplated by the control panel to which
they are connected.
The push-buttons protecting against opening

PB2

 and against removal

PB3

 can be

cut off by closing the relevant jumpers alongside the buttons. When commissioning
the control panel, the tamper-proof cut-off jumpers must be removed to make the
protections active so as not to invalidate the IMQ–security systems certification.

Recessed connector

The module has a recessed connector;

it must not be used under any circum-

stances as it is for internal testing; improper use may damage the circuit.
