STEP 7: Installing Stop Blocks

Pull the frame from the wall for clearance. Operate by slightly lifting and pulling the seat deck towards you. It will then lay
down in a bed position. To return the frame to the couch position, lift the seat deck at a right angle to the back deck. On
each side, the return mechanism will now fall into place against the back deck. Slowly pull down on the front of the seat
deck until it is resting on the front cross rail. NOTE: Before putting the couch in a bed position again, make sure the
return mechanisms are hanging straight down.
You have purchased the best-built pine bi-fold frame on the market. To ensure a long life, the angle slots in the
arms should be lubricated periodically with bath soap or bees wax. Touch up nicks or scratches with scratch
guard.
With your frame in the upright position, hold the stop on the
underside of the seat section ends against the log
spreader.
Take a pencil and draw a line across the small end of the
stop on the seat section end.
Now, put your futon in the bed position and lift the seat
section into a vertical position.
Take the stops and mount them on the bottom of the seat
section ends using two 1 5/8” screws. Hold the stop to the
pencil mark you made on the seat section ends. Move the
blocks back ¼” from the pencil mark and screw the block
into the seat section. Do this on both sides.
Bring the futon back up into the seat position as normal.
