Problem
Modem does not fax
No Dial Tone message
Solution
• Did you select the correct fax class? Check your software,
select another fax class and try again.
• Do you have another communications program open? If
so, close it.
• Did you select the correct printer in your application?
For example, fax/modem.
• Are all of the cable connections secure?
• Is the phone line in use by someone else?
• Are you using a standard analog phone line?
• Test the line by connecting a standard phone and listen-
ing for a dial tone.
• Is the modem plugged into a splitter? Try connecting
directly to the wall jack.
