CAMERA/LENS MOUNTING
1. Mount the lens onto the camera according
to instructions in the appropriate manual.
2. Remove the camera mounting bracket from
the tilt arm by loosening the captive
screw on the bottom of the tilt arm and
lifting the bracket.
It may be necessary
to raise the tilt arm for better access to
the captive screw.
Refer to Figure 2.
3. Locate the center of gravity of the
camera/lens combination by placing it on a
pencil and positioning it so that the unit
balances on the pencil. This point is the
center of gravity. Use the camera
mounting hole closest to this balance
point.
4. Mount the camera/lens unit to the camera
mounting bracket with the
bolt
supplied. Make sure that the rear of the
camera is positioned away from the tilt
arm pivot and that the center of balance
is as near as practical to the tilt arm
pivot.
NOTE: When the square-base version is being
mounted in an inverted position, the
camera must be mounted facing the opposite
end
of
the tilt arm. In this case, the
video and power cables should be routed
out the side
of
the tilt arm through the
holes provided near the pivot. Refer to

tilt-up/tilt-down, and
pan-left/pan-right control
connections
must be reversed on the PCB.
5. Position the camera mounting bracket on
the tilt arm and tighten the captive screw.
WIRING THE CAMERA/LENS
1. Attach the BNC connector from the pan-and-
tilt to the BNC connector on the camera.
2. Connect the power cable from the pan-and-
tilt to the camera. This could require
wiring directly to the camera power
terminals or installing the appropriate
camera power connector supplied with the
camera.
Connections for a motorized lens are made
through the connector at the pivot end of the
tilt arm (Figure 2). The connector is designed
to allow wiring without stripping the cable.
3. Cut the cable from the motorized lens to
the appropriate length and remove the
outer jacket. It is not necessary to strip
the insulation from the individual wires.
4. Lay the connector on a hard surface with
the open side facing up, as shown in
Figure 3. (The open side of the connector
will face down when the connector is
inserted into the mating connector on the
tilt base.)
