DESICCANT PLACEMENT
In order to minimize the effects of residual moisture left in the dome after initial pressurization and
purging, it is advisable to install the two desiccant packs (supplied) on to the camera drive mechanism
prior to installation in the dome, as shown below. Do not leave the desiccants exposed to outside air for
any sustained period of time. Desiccants will turn pink when they are fully saturated. Apply the desiccant
to the housing with the adhesive tape on the desiccant.
HEATER DUCT INSTALLATION
(THIS APPLIES FOR ALL SURVEYORVFT OUTDOOR INSTALLATIONS)
An optional heater duct must be installed in any SVFT Outdoor unit. Its
installation is similar for the various types of SVFT (Std. PTZ, Fixed, Maximum
Security or Pressurized) Domes and is beneficial in low temperature
applications in that it directs warm air onto the lower bubble surface
minimizing icing and fogging
I condensation problems. Its installation is shown
pictorially in the figures below. The duct snaps directly into the heater shell.
For ease of installation it is recommended that the duct be installed with the
mechanism out of the upper housing and the inner mask removed. Rotate the
duct slightly counter-clockwise and insert the duct locking tabs into the heater
shell as shown. Next squeeze the tabs by slightly pushing the duct against the
heater shell and inserting the corner posts into the heater shell. Push the duct
vertically into the shell until it bottoms insuring that the edges of the duct and
heater shell are aligned.
The Dome I Trim Ring is provided with a retainer (side rib for std. outdoor
dome), which when attached to the upper housing, fits into the tabs on the
heater duct as shown in the illustration. This locks the duct in position.
