1.11 Safety instructions for the Rotary Tedder
1. General safety instructions are contained in this documentation (and in Germany additionally in the
accident prevention regulation VSG 1.1, 01.01.2000, of the "Landwirtschaftliche
Berufsgenossenschaft" (Agricultural Trade Association).
2. Prior to mounting the implement or lifting the implement for the first time, check the space available.
3. Check the p.t.o. shaft before the first operation, and adjust it according to your implement (see
chapt. „modifying the drive shaft to suit the tractor“).
4. Check the tyre pressure (1.5 bar) at regular intervals.
5. Before each transport:
stop tractor p.t.o.,
wait until rotary arms come to a complete standstill,
put the implement in transport position,
check to see if locking is correct,
lock the control valve.
6. Make sure that no-one is within reach of the implement when lifting, lowering, and swinging in the
rotary arms.
7. Please observe that the three-point mounting models swing back into central position when lifting.
8. Repair work on post- tensioned energy storers (springs, accumulators etc.) may only be carried out
by specialists using the correct tools which comply with all prescribed standards. All such repairs
may only be carried out in specialist workshops!
9. You must read all maintenance and repair work instructions before carrying out any maintenance
or repair work. Stop the engine and remove the ignition key.
10.Keep away from the rotating arms. Before operating the Rotary Tedder, make sure that no-one
is within reach of the implement! Before switching on the p.t.o., make sure that no-one is within
reach of the rotary arms!
11.Do not exceed the prescribed p.t.o. speed of 540 rev/min!
12.Do not step between the tractor and the implement. Danger of being caught or squeezed!
13.Stay clear of the lifting area of the three-point mounting when operating the lifting unit!
14.After approx. 5 operating hours, all screw connections must be inspected and if necessary,
retightened. Make sure the torque is correct!
15.Place the p.t.o. in the chain provided when the implement is deposited.
