Chapter 3: SEND & RETRIEVE MESSAGES

Sending and Receiving Short LCD Messages

The Short Message Service (SMS) provides the ability to send and receive text messages to
and from iPECS IP and LDP Phones equipped with a display as well as the Phontage, UCS
Client and WLAN Phone. The text is comprised of words, numbers, or an alphanumeric
combination. Each short message can be up to 100 characters in length when Latin
alphabets are used

To resend an existing SMS message;

1. Press the

[TRANS/PGM]

button.

2.

Dial “36”, the SMS send code.

SMS SENDING MODE
RESEND-(1) EDIT-(2)

3.

Dial “1” to resend a message.

DIAL STA DEST(XXX-XXX)
SKIP-(*)

4.

Dial the desired station range to receive the message or “*” to use the
displayed station range.

Press the

[HOLD/SAVE]

button to send the message or “#” to cancel
