Advantage 

This  function  allows  two  remote  link  partners  of  the  media  converters  to  detect  the  link  fault  finally  no  matter 

where  the  exact  fault  occurs.  It  allows  the  upper  application  to  take  necessary  action  in  case  a  real  link fault 

occurs in any cable segment.
