2.6 Folding the backrest of the wheelchair

WARNING:
Risk of injury – Make sure that both safety pins are engaged.

CAUTION:
Chance of pinching – Do not place fingers between the components
of the wheelchair.
For transport the backrest of the wheelchair can be completely folded to the seat.
1.
Pull gently on the back strap.
2.
The safety pins of the back come loose.
3.
Fold the backrest forward.
To unfold the backrest:
1.
Pull gently on the back strap.
2.
Pull to the backrest until it clicks into position.
3.
Be sure that both safety pins click in the holes of the backrest adjustment plate.
2.7 Backrest inclination (mechanical)

CAUTION:
Risk of injury – Make sure that both locking mechanisms
are
properly engaged before using the wheelchair.
Make sure that the backrest is on both sides placed in the same position for the
comfort of the patient.
The angle of the backrest can be adjusted in 5 different positions from -5° - +55°.
1. Pull on the back strap until the locking pins on both sides come out the hole of the
backrest plate.
2. Push or pull the backrest forward or backwards until the desired angle.
3. Check that the locking pins are securely fixed.
Where an electrical back incliner is fitted, no manual adjustment is possible.
2.8 Operating the brakes
The wheelchair is foreseen from regular and parking brakes according STVZO (the German
traffic law). Let go of the joystick to stop the electric wheelchair and activate the regular
brakes. With the freewheel device or the brakes positioned near the rear wheels you can
operate the parking brakes.
Explanations below is to use the brakes on the rear wheels. These brakes can be used by
the attendant.

The brakes are not used to slow down the wheelchair during
movements – Use the brake only to prevent the wheelchair from unintended
movements.

Good operation of the brakes is influenced by wear and
contamination of the tires (water, oil, mud, …) – Check the condition of the tires
before each use.

brakes before each use.
