1. On the Windows desktop, click on the Start Start icon. Select
Settings Settings and click Network & Internet Network & Internet.
2. In the Network & Internet, click Ethernet Ethernet.
3. Select Network and Sharing Center Network and Sharing Center. The View your basic View your basic
network information and set up connections network information and set up connections window
displays.
4. In the View your active networks View your active networks, click Ethernet Ethernet in the
Connections Connections field. The Ethernet Status Ethernet Status window displays.
5. Click Properties Properties. The Ethernet Properties Ethernet Properties window displays.
6. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then click

7. Click the Obtain an IP address automatically Obtain an IP address automatically radio button.
8. Click the Obtain DNS server address automatically Obtain DNS server address automatically radio
button, then click OK OK.
9. In the Local Area Connection Properties Local Area Connection Properties window, click OK OK to
save the settings.
10. To configure Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) to
use dynamic IP addressing, repeat steps 1 to 9. However
for step 6, select Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/ Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/
IPv6) IPv6) in the Properties Properties option (refer to IPv6 section for
Verizon Internet Gateway configuration).
