Since the light does need to be oriented towards your face (but not staring into it
directly), your eyes need to be open to get the full benefit.
Note:
Tinted glasses reduce
the amount of light reaching your eyes and would result in the need for a longer
session.
We are all different and each person’s response to light will vary. It’s important to find
the distance, time, and color that are most comfortable for you. How close you place
HappyLight
®
Alba to you affects the length of time using the light. The closer you are,
the higher the brightness and the less time you will need to use HappyLight
®
Alba
each day to experience the benefits!
If you do not experience desired results, or are feeling lethargic, here are a few things
you can try:
• Try using a higher brightness level
• Sit closer to the lamp
• Increase the amount of time you are using the lamp
How to Use - Customization
Sit close to your HappyLight
®
Alba with your eyes
open. While staying oriented toward the light, feel
free to engage in other activities that you would
normally do. These can include reading, working at
your computer or desk, using your phone or tablet,
applying make-up, or even hobbies and crafts!
Really, there is no limit to what you can do - get
your dose of bright light for the day and do your
normal routine (multi-tasking #winning)!
You can place HappyLight
®
Alba between 6 and 24
inches of your face. The time of use and distance
are correlated - so the closer you are, the less time
you need in your light therapy session and vice
versa when it is placed further away (so, more time
when it is further from you!). It is most effective
when positioned slightly off-center (check out the diagram).
Important note:
Do not look directly into the lamp.
