Every person has a different sensitivity
to light, so it is important to find the
settings, distance, and time that are
most comfortable for you. After you
have completed the Device Pretest, use
your HappyLight
®
regularly around the
same time each day. You could choose
to do this all in one session, or divide
your time into several mini-sessions. Use your HappyLight
®
Alba daily to improve in
sleep, boost your mood, increase energy, and enhance your focus.
As you are establishing your routine, if you find yourself feeling sluggish and lethargic,
increase the brightness of the lamp, sit closer, and/or spend more time in your
session. If you feel a sort of edginess, like you drank too much coffee, it may be time
to turn off the lamp.

Establishing your daily routine with HappyLight
®
Alba will help you to maximize
the benefits of light therapy. Clinical research on bright light therapy consistently
demonstrates that 2,500 - 10,000 lux (a measurement of the intensity or “brightness”
of light) between 20 minutes and a few hours per day help with mood and sleep issues
and can reverse the symptoms of “winter blues”. Consistent use at the same time
each day has been shown to have the biggest impact and timing earlier in the day has
also been shown to be more helpful for sleep cycles.
