Daily Inspection
1.
Always set the parking brake, shut off the tractor
and collection system engines, remove the tractor
and collection system ignition keys, and ensure
all moving parts have stopped before inspecting,
adjusting, or servicing any component or function
of the tractor, mower deck, or collection system.
Park the tractor and collection system on a level
surface, with the engines shut off and all fluids cold.
2. Perform a visual inspection of the tractor and collec-
tion system. Ensure the collection system is properly
attached to the tractor. Look for loose or missing
hardware, damaged components, or signs of wear.
Inspect hydraulic hoses, hydraulic fittings, and fuel
lines to ensure tight, leak free connections.
3. Check the collection system’s engine oil and fuel
levels. Add or service as required.
4. Refer to the tractor operator’s manual. Check the
tractor’s engine oil, hydraulic oil, cooling system, tire
pressure, and fuel level. Add fluid or service system
as required.
5. If a mower deck will be used, inspect the mower
deck, drive belts, and mower blades. Belts should
be in good condition. Mower blades should be sharp
and securely fastened. Service as required.
6. Test the collection system’s operator safety interlock
system. Refer to
Safety Interlock System
