5.1.3

Inserting the battery pack

This is performed after the VR4-UWM case has been opened (see section 5.1.1) and the battery pack has been
removed (see section 5.1.2). The VR4-UWM is shipped with the battery pack installed so this procedure is
not necessary before the initial deployment of the receiver.

Remove all the Desiccant packages from
around the battery.

STEP 4

Lift the battery from the
chassis and dispose of
according to proper
environmental
procedures in your
area.

STEP 5

Position the lid and chassis so the flat
battery location is facing up.

STEP 1

Place the battery on
the chassis so the
battery wire (see
arrow in photo)
extends through the
hole in the end of the
chassis

STEP 2

Desiccant packs reduce the occurrence
of condensation in the receiver. These
packs should remain in the receiver
case during storage and deployment.

More information on these packs is
located at www.vemco.com.

Place

three new desiccant packs

next to each corner of

the battery pack (for a total of 12 packs). These must be in
the corners so they will be secured in the next step.
