Charging
Refer to the illustrations on page 2 of this manual.
•
There are 3 ways to charge the device. While charging, the charge indicator [j] will light up.
o
Cranking: unfold the handle [8] and rotate it with ±3 rpm (max. 4rpm). Rotate steadily;
rotating to slowly will produce a weak charging current, cranking too violently might damage
the cranking system. Do not crank more than 5 minutes when battery is charged or more than
15 minutes when battery is low. Do not abruptly change cranking direction. Switch off the
torch for faster charging.
Notes:
Be careful not to injure fingers or nails when cranking.
To extend battery lifetime, crank for at least 1 minute once per month.
The device will get warm when cranking for a longer time.
Always fold the handle [8] back in place when finished cranking.
o
Solar panel: place the device with the solar panels [2] facing the sun for continuous solar
charging.
o
External power: connect the included USB cable into the DC-jack [10]. Plug the USB
connector into a powered USB port or suitable 5V adaptor. Charge time 6~8 hours.
•
It is also possible to charge other digital devices e.g. mobile phones. Connect the digital device
to the DC-jack [10] using the included cable and suitable plug. Crank as described above. The
charge indicator [j] will light up.
