CineCast HD Version 2.6 Installation and User Manual
DECODER Command (45h)
0015 Set Stand-Alone Mode (Genlock Disable):
Default mode of the decoder.
0016 Set Genlock Mode:
This enables the decoder to synchronize to the gen-
lock input source.
• Bit 8 of the command is reserved.
• Bit 9 of the command allows for automatic switching to Standalone
mode upon detection of loss of genlock.
• Bits 10-15 of the command are reserved.
This feature requires that Error Reporting be enabled, i.e., decoder (45h) com-
mand, command code 002Bh, with bit 10 set to 1 to enable Genlock Loss
reporting. When genlock input is not detected during playback, the decoder
will switch back to Standalone mode and return the following error:
Recovered
Error, Genlock Sync Lost.
The decoder from that point on will remain in Standalone mode until genlock
mode is re-enabled by the host.
The genlock hardware requires a genlock resync, which results in a momentary
picture glitch, jump, or white flash when genlock mode is first enabled. The
genlock resync will occur 3–4 seconds after one of the following conditions:
1. The first time the decoder is put into genlock mode (via the Genlock
command 0x0016).
2. When genlock is enabled and the video output resolution is changed.
