1.1 Configuration

cates.
Components
VEGAFLEX consists of the following com-
ponents:
• process connection with electrode
• housing with electronics
• housing cover with indicating and adjustment
module PLICSCOM (option)
1.2 Principle of operation
Area of application
VEGAFLEX 62 is a level senor with cable or rod
electrode for continuous level measurement.
It is designed for industrial use in all areas of
process technology and is suitable for the
measurement of liquids and solids.
Physical principle
High frequency microwave impulses are
guided along a steel cable or rod. The micro-
wave impulses are reflected when they reach
the product surface. The impulse running time
is processed by the integrated electronics and
outputted as distance.
Power supply
VEGAFLEX has a two-wire electronics
4 … 20 mA/HART
®
for power supply with
14 … 36 V DC.
1.3 Adjustment
VEGAFLEX can be adjusted with three different
media:
• the indicating and adjustment module
PLICSCOM
• the adjustment software acc. to FDT/DTM
standard, e.g. PACT
ware
TM
and PC
• a HART
®
handheld.
