Quick Reference Guide

SONET BERT

1. Connect to the test interface using the following:

−

Single-mode fiber patch cord to connect to a OC-x

(SFP) or 10G (XFP) interface

−

BNC to connect to a DS3 or STS-3 interface

2. Power on the unit

3. From the SONET Home menu, tap on the Setup menu

4. Configure the pull down menu fields.

Select Operating Mode and Test Rate

Configuration

5. Tap the Clock Source

Normal, Payload, or
Transparent

Te st R a te : I f t h e
network type is set to
SONET, rate choices
are STS-1 to OC-192

Clock Src: Internal,
External (SMA or 2

for balanced or AUX RX
for unbalanced), From
RX, Offset (±50 ppm)

6. Tap to return to the previous menu.
