This chapter informs you about the hardware installed in Vectron
POS SteelTouch PC.
8 .1. Por ts
At the bottom of Vectron POS SteelTouch PC there are
various ports where external devices can be connected to
(see fig. 10).
• One port (3.5 mm jack) for external operator lock
• Four serial ports (RS232) for the connection of e.g.
customer displays, scanners, magnetic card readers,
printers, operator locks, modems etc.
• Four USB ports for updates and backup on external data
memories and for connection of peripherals.
• One PS/2 port for connection of a PC-keyboard or a
magnetic card reader.
• One network port (10/100 Mbit) to establish an extensi-
ve network with up to 200 Vectron POS systems
• One port for cash drawers. Per Adapter a whole of two
cash drawers can be connected and addressed.
• One power supply for Vectron POS SteelTouch PC via
external power supply AcBel AD7043.
