Display Symbols
The following symbols may appear in the phone menu:
Roaming; Display when connected into a foreign network (for roaming partners,
refer to network operator information)
Incoming call not accepted (only with navigation system switched on. The telephone
must have been inserted in the holder and connected to the network)
(black): New text message (SMS) received and not yet read
(red): SMS memory full

(old SMS must be deleted before new SMS can be stored)
Reading SIM card (e.g. when reading phone book entries); functions may be blocked
when this symbol is displayed.
Field strength display
The strength of the phone reception signal is shown by the number of black solid
rectangles on the left side in the "Phone" menu.
The field strength can also be indicated in the status line, so that the reception status can
be still be seen in other menus / displays.
In the list of possible displays for the status line (see navigation system operating instruc-
tions), the option "Field strength" can be selected when the hands-free unit is connected.
"Function" option
The following options are available in the "Function" option in the phone menu:
• Call list, see page 14.
• Read SMS, see page 17.
• Write SMS, see page 18.
• SMS templates, see page 18.
• Versions, see page 19.
