In rare cases, your multimedia system may not function the way you expect it to. Before
calling for service please read the operating instructions and go through the following check
list; it may be possible to easily remedy an apparent malfunction.
Symptoms
Possible cause / remedy
Player does not work. No reaction when
switching on ignition and pressing the
POWER
button.
Check fuses (unit and vehicle) and connections (see mounting
instructions).
• Press the RESET button (see page 16).
Player does not react to key presses on the
remote control.
Batteries of the remote control are exhausted.
• Replace the batteries with two new Size AAA Alkaline cells.
Remote control receiver is covered by objects or soiled.
• Remove all objects from the remote control receiver or clean the
surface with a damp cloth.
Skips during DVD playback. Distorted sound.
Frozen picture. Interference in picture. Player
does not read disc at all.
Player cannot read CD. CD is damaged or soiled.
Player does not play the inserted disc.
Inserted disc type does not correspond with the player
specifications.
In cold weather conditions, condensation may occur on the laser.
• Wait approximately 5 minutes until the condensation evaporates.
Player hang-up (picture freezes).
• Switch off and on the player to resume normal operation.
• Press the RESET button (see page 16).
No FOLDER/FILE display when playing an MP3
disc.
• Set “SMART NAV” option to “WITH MENU” in the PREFERENCES
setup menu.
Wrong language for audio, DVD menu or
subtitles is selected when inserting a DVD.
• Check initial language settings in the PREFERENCES setup menu.
Colour saturation is too weak/strong during
DVD/VCD/SVCD playback.
• Remove the disc.
• Set the required COLOR value using the

or
>
buttons and
re-insert the disc.
Reset default value:
• With the disc removed, press the
DISP
button.
